When she’s not hard at work supporting our customers and ambassadors, you can find her teaching dance classes or performing with multiple dance companies in Denver.
Ned: Can you share a bit about yourself?
Hanna: I’m a first generation Persian-American who was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I have my mother and father to thank who moved to America to make sure their kids get to live the life they choose; not many persian families are supportive like that. I came to Colorado in 2015 to pursue a BA in dance with a scholarship. I actually never visited the state until I moved into my freshman dorm. To say the least, it’s been one of the best risks I’ve ever taken. The family I’ve met here is my home away from home. After graduating Spring 2019, the pandemic shortly hit and all my dance classes were hosted over Zoom (if you know, you know). It made me realize that it might be good to discover other areas of work. I ended up finding the customer happiness team at Ned. Since I’ve been here, I’ve learned so much about how the Earth heals and how we really deviated from that perspective as a society. What caught my eye was that the customer service had a high-touch value to it. They were personable, authentic, and intentional to their customers. That connection reminded me a lot of what dance had offered me. When I am not in the office, I am often found teaching dance, or performing with multiple dance companies in Denver! I love all that dance brings to one’s life. Quite frankly, I can’t stay away from it, it’s euphoric. It will forever be the greatest tool for me to understand myself and in return, be better for others as well.
Ned: What are some of your hobbies?
Hanna: I love to cook, practice yoga, and experiment with graphic design. I also really love to explore new restaurants in the city!
Ned: What are your core values?
Hanna: My core values are transparency, compassion, and community development
Ned: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Hanna: You are the chemist of your life.
Ned: What’s your favorite quote?
Hanna: “The man is the head, but the woman is the neck, and she can turn the head any way she wants.” –My Big Fat Greek Wedding (this is my FAVORITE movie)
Ned: What do you do at Ned?
Hanna: I work in the Customer Happiness department and also assist with the Ned Collective ambassador program!
Ned: Why do you love working at Ned?
Hanna: I love that I’m learning. I feel seen and appreciated for my efforts while kept accountable. The women at Ned are all powerhouses in their own unique way. Everyone has their niche and different opinions, and I think that’s the catalyst in how we do amazing things as a team and for our customers.
Ned: What’s your favorite Ned product?
Hanna: The Body Butter!! I always share this with my friends. Not only does it smell good, it truly helps me recover from weekend rehearsals. I probably use more than I should…sometimes I get carried away! It’s become a Sunday ritual after stretching and using my foam roller. I take my time and really make sure I massage this into my muscles, especially my calves. It gives some extra TLC to them and is the time where I unapologetically express gratitude for all the things my body does. Little steps like this really help me start Mondays right.
Ned: How do you like to start your day?
Hanna: Music and coffee.
Ned: How do you like to end your day?
Hanna: I like to declutter my mind and journal.
Ned: What’s your best tip for stress?
I am an extremely anxious person. When it feels like too much, I sit down and write all my thoughts. Once I am done, I read them back and circle the things that I can control and cross out the ones I can’t. It feels silly at first, but by the end, I’m left with a list of things I hope to accomplish or resolve. Afterall, we are the chemists of our lives!
Ned: What’s your best tip for sleep?
Hanna: Drink lots of water and make sure you get active during the day!
