Celebrating our 5th birthday this month is more than just a fun milestone – it’s proof of what’s possible when you put people and the planet first. OCTOBER 2017 – NED WAS BORN ON A HIKE UP SOUTH ARAPAHOE PEAK
Ret and Adriaan (Founders of Ned) had their first official “business meeting” climbing South Arapaho Peak, before getting turned around by a blizzard. Far more important than reaching the summit that day, they came away from the adventure with the core principles of Ned.
NOVEMBER 2018 – NED JOINED 1% FOR THE PLANET
Ned became a proud 1% For the Planet member the very same week the company was incorporated. Since that time, we have contributed 1% of all revenue towards organizations and charities helping to make outdoor spaces and experiences more accessible to the communities that need them most. MARCH 2018 – WE OPENED FOR BUSINESS
Ned launched with just two products – a full spectrum hemp tincture that was to become Daily Blend and a full spectrum hemp topical that was to become Daily Balm. Ret’s dad was our first customer.

Ned worked with Veterans Outdoor Advocacy Group (VOAG) to help pass this lifesaving legislation that gives veterans struggling with combat-reated injuries and mental health issues better access to the outdoors as part of their medical treatment and therapy. We spent three whole years searching high and low for a partner that would produce vegan capsules — with our own oil. One simply did not exist. They either only sold “vegan” capsules that were actually bovine or they only used their own standard white-label CBD. No thanks! We don’t compromise on quality, so we held out until we could offer the very best. As luck would have it, the first vegan capsule company of its kind opened up in 2020 — right here in our own backyard! The rest is history.
