Friend of Ned: Trish Barillas

Meet Trish Barillas – founder of 3GS, life coach (specializing in anxiety), mental health advocate, author, and Friend of Ned! We chat with her about mental wellness, not being defined by anxiety, and how CBD can help.

Ned: How would you describe yourself?

Trish: I’m a no-bs, music loving latina who loves working with human behavior.

Ned: Can you tell us more about the work you do?

Trish: I coach on the anxieties of life, relationships, breakups, job advancements and anxiety itself.

Ned: What led you to this line of work?

Trish: As someone who grew up with a mental illness, I knew I would always be in the space of helping others. I knew I wanted to create positive change in people’s lives so they wouldn’t have to suffer alone.

Ned: What’s the most rewarding aspect of your work?

Trish: Seeing people feel better about themselves, more empowered and confident.

Ned: In the past few years, there’s been a larger conversation about prioritizing mental health. How would you like to see that conversation evolve even further?

Trish: I would like to see more classes on it in high schools, have more exposure on dealing with emotions, etc. This needs to be addressed in our formative years so that kids have better coping mechanisms and awareness.

Ned: Why is sleep so integral to mental health?

Trish: Because the body restores and resets with sleep! This has always been one of my biggest battles. The body says sleep and the mind says “not tonight”.

Ned: What’s one thing you wish more people knew about mental wellness?

Trish: I wish people knew that having obstacles and struggles with your mental health does not mean you have failed at something or can’t hack it in today’s world. You don’t have to feel ashamed.

Ned: How has Sleep Blend helped you or your clients?

Trish: Because the mind won’t stop running for most of my clients, Sleep Blend helps them get into a better state of mind for relaxation. It becomes their nighttime ritual to help prepare for a good night's rest.

Ned: How do you start your day?

Trish: I start my day with a morning mindfulness practice, where I ask myself questions on how I slept, how I feel and what I think I may need to get me through today. This takes about 2-3 min, then after I brush my teeth I take Ned’s De-Stress Blend. That is my morning ritual.

Ned: How do you end your day?

Trish: I play some soothing nature sounds on an app, I spray my pillows with a Frankincense mixture spray. then read a bit before bed.

Ned: Who do you follow that really inspires you?

Trish: Dr. Thema is super inspiring, she has a way with words.

Ned: What’s something you’re grateful for?

Trish: My immigrant parents leaving everything behind to give their families a fighting chance. I will never know the depth of their sufferings.
